Lipstick basics

Owen: Can I wear lipstick too?

Me: Lipstick is just for girls, mainly for big girls and Mommies.

Owen: Lipstick is only for girls?

Me: Yep.

Owen: Oh. Boys don't wears lipstick.

Me: Nope.

Owen: Blankets don't wears lipstick?

Me: Nope.

Owen: Dogs don't wears lipstick?

Me: Nope.

Owen: Carpets don't wears lipstick?

Me: No, they don't.

Owen: Only girls wears lipstick. Just you wears lipstick and not the fence wears lipstick?

Me: Yes, that's right. You're so smart Owen. The fence doesn't ever get to wear my liptstick, ok?

Owen: Oh, ok.

I can't get enough

Cling

One of their favorite lunch spots is under the trampoline. It's shady and for some reason it makes them feel like they're getting a special treat to eat under there, they're little enough that they fit perfectly. And it's a bonus for me because their crumbs fall on the ground outside inside of on the floor inside! The only thing is, the static cling. Their hair reaches straight up, they haven't noticed yet but it always makes me laugh ;)

Toys: 0, Imagination: 1

We have bikes, scooters, balls, a trampoline, sidewalk chalk, and toys toys toys to keep them entertained outside. All that money spent and instead they've happily "sailed" in this old, free jogging stroller for most of today.

I might be in need of adult conversation

Me: "Owen, do you want a tickle or a nickel?"

"A nickel!!!"

"Do you want a nickel or a pickle?"

"A pickle!!!"

"Do you want a pickle or a sickle?"

"A popsicle!!!"

"You're fickle, kiddo."

"I want a fickle!!!"

Confession

When we found out we were having another boy, I was really happy but a little worried. I knew exactly how much I loved Natalie and Owen and I couldn't comprehend how I could love another little baby just as much. Well. What can I say about Emmett at 6 months? I am in serious love with this child. Can't live without him. When the other two are being holy terrors fighting and making messes, Emmett is happy. He's soft and chunky like cookie dough but better, and I cannot get enough of him. He is really just downright delicious to my soul. Basically, I want to gobble him up and kiss him all the time and squeeze his thighs and make him laugh and nuzzle his neck all day and smell his toothless sweet baby breath and inhale him altogether. I think that basically covers it. And the best part is, he let's me and he loves my attention so I can just love on him as much as I want and he doesn't mind! If I could, I would melt right into him like butter on toast so I can be even closer to his yumminess than I am by just getting to cuddle him. Looking back I realize my heart never stood a chance, he is everything to his mama.

Relaxing after a long day at the zoo!

We love our Natalie! I can't believe she's already four, it's going by too fast. Natalie is filled to the brim with life and spirit and drama for her mama. Today for her birthday Roger took her and Owen to the Oakland Zoo and they had a blast. She came home to dinner, presents and cake. She thought she was getting chocolate cake for breakfast. (I did let her pick out Cocoa Puffs at the store yesterday for a special birthday treat but she was also expecting cake.) Then she thought she was getting chocolate cake at the zoo. Then she thought she was getting chocolate cake for dinner. When she finally got to have a piece of chocolate cake she only licked some of the frosting off and was done. Tomorrow we'll go to Nana and Grandad's house for another round of cake and presents, then Monday is her party with friends at the park. Happy Birthday to my favorite girl, I love you SO much Natalie. This video of her blowing out the candles cracks me up, the first half is sideways though.
